Welcome to the Manitoba Angel Dresses volunteer page, home to where volunteers lovingly create beautiful Angel items from donated bridal and bridesmaid gowns.

At Manitoba Angel Dresses volunteers are our strength as the framework of our organization is volunteer driven, and all our volunteers believe in our Vision and Mission Statement. Our volunteers are emotionally objective to view Angel items as hope and comfort.

All Angel items created are gifted free of charge to family or facility.

To become involved, take a moment to read over the various position descriptions and complete our volunteer form. After your form has been received someone will be in touch within a 24 hour period.

Collectors

As a collector you are for the most part the initial contact with the public to our organization. Donated bridal and bridesmaid gowns are gifted to our organization and your role is to ensure that gowns are laundered, that keep sake items have been taken, photos of the gown have been taken and posted to the gown album for that year, and that all paper work is complete and reported.

Skills and abilities: Friendly and courteous, basic sewing skills are helpful but not necessary guidance will be available.

Good Will Ambassadors

As a Good Will Ambassador your role includes staffing information booths in key areas.

Skills and abilities: Give information in a friendly and courteous manner to the general public.

Knitters / Crochetters

As a knitter and/or crocheter you will knit and/or crochet Angel Layettes.

Patterns will be provided, yarn is new or never used and of the baby variety.

Skills and abilities: Able to follow patterns

Seamstresses

As a seamstress you will be creating Angel items from donated bridal and bridesmaid gowns.

Be creative, able to transform a bridal gown into Angel items within an eight (8) week period. Be responsive in communicating difficulties in meeting expected time frame for finished Angel items. Able to create/sew items upon request.

Skills and abilities: Moderate to experienced sewing skills.

Seamstress Lead

As the Seamstress Lead you will mentor the Manitoba Angel Dresses Seamstresses.

In this position you will be responsible for the overall monitoring of the seamstress’s progress from orientation to ongoing contact will all seamstresses.

Skills and abilities: Excellent sewing knowledge, organizational and communication skills.

Information Lead

As the Information Lead you will bring awareness of the organization to the public.

In this position you will be responsible for formulating a plan to raise the public awareness of the organization by various methods of communication.

Skills and abilities: Excellent oral and written communication
